Character and emphasis The Nederlandse Kastelenstichting (NKS) was founded in 1945 to stimulate the preservation of castles and country houses in the Netherlands, their gardens, parks and estates, and their furnishings when of historical or cultural relevance. It maintains an extensive collection of books and documentation on castles and country houses, in particular in the Netherlands.

  • A collection of ca. 250 prints (17th and 18th Centuries) documenting castles and historic country houses in the Netherlands
  • 25,000 postcards, 17,000 photographs and 20,000 slides illustrating castles and country houses in Europe, with an emphasis on the Netherlands
