Character and emphasis The Jan van Eyck Academie (founded in 1948) is a post-academic institute for research and production in the fields of fine art, design and theory. The library has a specialised collection of books on modern fine arts, design, theory and philosophy. The documentation centre collects material about the Academie, the programme, and the work of researchers, advising researchers and technical staff.
